The Hitching Post of Maine is a lovely new rustic barn venue in an authentic location of Maine! With such a high demand, a new wedding venue with this theme is just what we need! Angela and Keith, the owners, were a pleasure to meet. They hosted myself and other vendors for a styled shoot that we will be posting about soon. I worked mainly with Angela and she was genuine in all of our connections. They are a fantastic couple to work with! I’m always curious what brings people to the wedding industry and when I asked Angela about her story, this is what she told me:
We are farmers and have had this property with the old 1800’s barn for almost 25 years. About 5 or 6 years ago we started fixing things up a little and we decided it was a waste to see it just sitting there only being used for storage of nothing of value. Not having any experience in this industry but having owned businesses over the years, we knew we could make it work. So over the last 2 years we have restored it, replaced the floor and built an addition to hold 4 restrooms, a bar and a kitchen prep area. Our next steps are getting the landscaping where we imagine it. We have started out by spending the last 6 weeks working hard on landscaping outside and getting grass seeded.
What sets aside this venue is the authenticity of it. There are plenty of details that could be added to make the venue feel unique to your own style, but it isn’t necessary. The tables don’t need to be covered up by linens– they are beautifully crafted by the owners and are a true feature of the barn. The craftsmanship carries outside as well as inside, at the ceremony site. The benches in which guests will find cozy are also well crafted and carry the style throughout the site.
What I also LOVE about the venue is how much time you get when you choose The Hitching Post of Maine. It includes exclusive use of the barn beginning the day before your event at 3:00, the entire day of your wedding, and until 10:30 the following day. In an era where weddings are uniquely designed to reflect a couple, time is needed in order to make that happen. How perfect for a couple to have so much time leading up until their day and following. Cleaning up can be a daunting task and if you don’t have a day of wedding coordinator, time is a beautiful gift. Angela and Keith have given that to you!
I’m confident in trusting that a couple would be taken care of well if they host a wedding at the Hitching Post of Maine with Angela and Keith!
