These two kicked off the weekend with a killer Studio 54 themed party! It was a blast! Guests really took the theme seriously and dressed the part! It was so fun to see everybody in theme, having a blast! The night centered around casual food all evening, a stellar bar that matched the theme, with the best disco music. The lasers, sequins linens, and disco balls were sprinkled everywhere! You play Abba and people can’t help but get themselves to the dance floor!
Saturday, I barely recognized guests, as they switched gears and moved into their black tie celebration! We were in Castine, a place so meaningful to each of these two– Will for sailing and Camilla, where she spent so many summers with her family! We gathered everybody in the church, and yes it was absolutely sweltering, but nothing a few hand fans couldn’t help. I was lucky enough to be with Camilla and her dad just before she walked down the aisle and her eyes said it all. It’s such a gift that we get to see so much raw emotion on a couple’s wedding day! After their petal toss leaving the church, these two escaped in the coolest getaway car and they later met everybody down the street at Fort Madison!
Guests were welcomed with an incredible view overlooking the water and plenty of good food and drinks by Trillium! Instead of sequins from Friday, we were in an array of purples and burgundy. After cocktail hour, guests realized they were mixed up at dinner– not sitting with their significant other or closest friends. They headed to their tables, anyways, named after places in the area that these two love (with custom paintings of the location). Will later explained in his toast, that they were hopeful their friends and family could get to know other people who they love and perhaps make new friends. The evening went too quickly! Even with 6 toasts, mixed in with breaks in between, it just flew! Camilla’s sister explained that although everyone had been hearing that Will longed for Camilla before they started dating, she wanted everyone to know a new narrative: that Camilla would love Will until the end. These two are so well loved, it was easy to see.
And the dance floor was packed all night– this doesn’t always happen, but this was for sure one of those weddings! There were smiles all night from everyone!! There was a brief interruption in all of it though with passed espresso martinis, for the coolest foggiest fireworks we’ve ever seen, where Camilla and Will were found dancing on one of the grassy mounds of the field. At one point in the show, I couldn’t even see halfway across the tent!
This weekend was incredible and we’re glad we could help make it all happen as these two dreamed it would!
