The months leading up to your big day are so exciting to watch your vision come to life, but let’s not kid ourselves brides, we know it’s stressful too! Take it from someone living in that stress right along side you all, it’s so important to take some time for yourself.
I don’t know about any other brides out there but when I see friends and family lately their first question is “How is wedding planning?”. This question simultaneously excites me and makes me overthink. While I love talking about the things we’ve accomplished it also reminds me of the small details still to come and my to do list that needs to get done.
Here are my quick hows to for brides to make sure you enjoy the process while you’re in it!
Take the time off after you have your vendors but are still a ways out from your date. I know this time feels like a lull when you’re anticipating but it’s one of the only times you and your partner get to sit back and not have a to do list going, so just soak it in!
Set aside time to block schedule- for me and my fiancé we made agendas for Wedding Wednesdays and stuck to that list. We knew we could add things for the next week and having the time allotted meant we could compartmentalize our other time together for date nights or other fun things and not let wedding details bleed into our separate quality time.
Brides & Grooms- plan self care. For me I took lots of baths with my books and made sure to get in a spin class then I added in biweekly nail appointments to test out nail designs. These small things gave me time to myself to clear my head so when it came time to think about wedding planning I was the most levelheaded when taking care of myself.
This planning time is a process you want to look back on fondly, not just think of how happy you are that it’s over. So do what you can to enjoy it!
