Kate and Shrey met in college and actually worked together in NY before coming back to Maine. Reddy, Shrey’s best man, was even referencing in his toast that he was trying to get these two together on a date years back! He was sure they would be a good match and turns out, he was right! They got married in 2021 and had their wedding celebration in front of their loved ones at Kate’s family’s home on the coast of southern Maine!
From the beginning I was thrilled about Kate’s vision. It was full of inspiration from Shrey’s life in Nepal– a lot of bright colors, handmade Nepali paper, and plenty of marigolds, including the seed packets that were given to guests. The colors were included in floral, linens, and even ink color throughout all the stationery! The design even connected to Kate’s family with their history at a strawberry farm- the boutonnieres had unripe strawberries woven in! There were plenty of other fun things too, like their Dennison pennant flags added to the bar and fun balloons in the pool.
It was such a pleasure to witness these two walking down the aisle with their parents. It was beautiful and such a special way to celebrate their history and their first anniversary as newlyweds!
This day was truly a reflection of them, which makes us SO happy! Many couples come to us with that idea, but quickly stray to simplicity. Kate and Shrey welcomed this infusion of their backgrounds, their families, and their own story!
The evening was interrupted with some fireworks Kate’s family was excited to share with all the guests and ended with dancing under the disco ball!
